Tiger’s eye, also known as tiger’s eye stone, is a gemstone with a cat’s eye effect, mostly yellow brown in color, with a silk like light pattern inside the gemstone. Tiger eye stone is one of the varieties of quartz, which can be replaced by pseudocrystals made of bluestone, cotton fiber, and silicon. Tiger eye stone is a variant of wood variable stone. The quartz fibers of tiger eye stone are shorter than those of wood variable stone, and the direction is irregular, arranged in any direction like stripes. Generally, it has a black and yellow tone, resembling the pattern of a tiger, but there are also blue, yellow, and black tones, known as blue cat eye stones (often referred to as “noble gems”). Maoyan stone is mainly produced in gas formed hydrothermal deposits and pegmatite veins, while the blue variant species produced by the incomplete silicification process of Huyan stone are called “Eagle Eye Stone”. The world’s largest tiger’s eye and woodite deposits are located in Transvaal Province, South Africa. In addition, they are also produced in Brazil, Henan Province, China, and other places. The price also depends on the quality. The general surface is free of defects. The eyeliner is clear and in the middle of the top grade.
Introduction to Gemstones
Tiger’s eye is a quartz aggregate, amorphous mineral, also known as tiger’s eye. It usually has colors such as brownish yellow, blue, reddish brown, etc. It is opaque, delicate and tough in texture, and has a fine fibrous structure. If it is ground into a curved ring surface from the vertical fiber direction, a parallel moving “eye” will appear on the curved surface. Due to its shape and color resembling tiger eyes, it is named tiger eye stone.
It can be divided into four types according to its color:
Yellow Tiger Eye Stone
The most common type is “tiger eye stone” or “tiger eye stone”. Tiger eye stone is produced in the middle or both sides of the fractured zone in the form of veins or lenses of different sizes. The ore is in the form of fine-grained speckled or fibrous structures, block like structures, and blue asbestos is distributed in longitudinal, transverse, oblique, and clustered blue asbestos fibers, with different directions and mixed colors. Due to the later stage of limonitization, tiger’s eye stone appears as a cash yellow or yellow brown color, with a strong silky or diamond luster, slightly transparent or semi transparent, with a hardness of over 7 degrees, and has a strong cat’s eye effect, forming a band like “active light” or “strangling light”. The fierce and domineering gaze of the Yellow Tiger Eye Stone, like a cat’s eye, radiates a brilliant light, adding courage and confidence to people, encouraging them to bravely strive and create more wealth. Some people also refer to Tiger Eye Stone as Wangfu Stone, bringing good luck and wealth to their husbands. The prestigious and domineering tiger eye stone bracelet reflects a brilliant light like a cat’s eye, inspiring courage, bringing confidence, strengthening faith, and making people brave.
Blue Tiger Eye Stone
This is called “Eagle eye stone” or “Eagle eye stone”, with the chemical formula (SiO2). It is vein shaped and partially lens shaped. Pulse width of 2-5 cm, single color, irregular arrangement of blue asbestos, developed small cracks, low degree of silicification, visible hard and brittle blue asbestos fibers. The ore has a fine-grained structure, fibrous structure, block like, honeycomb like, strip like or shell like structure, strong silky luster, slightly transparent or semi transparent, with a light or strip like “active light”.
Red Tiger Eye Stone
Lens bodies of varying sizes are produced within cracks containing blue asbestos, with a relatively uniform color and locally visible iron oxide films; Blue asbestos fibers are arranged in a regular or relatively regular manner, with a fine-grained fibrous structure, dense, blocky structure, strong silky luster, and obvious strip like active light. The high-quality red tiger stone shimmers with a deep red light at different angles.
Multi colored tiger eye stone
Also known as “zebra tiger eye stone” or “zebra tiger eye stone”, it is located in the middle or both sides of the fractured alteration zone, and is produced in veins in blue asbestos veins or quartz veins. Its color is red, blue, yellow, milky white, etc., and the arrangement direction of blue asbestos fibers is irregular.
